21st European Student Championship
In Forestry Skills

European Student Championship in Forestry Skills (hereinafter referred to as “ESCFS 2025”) between May 20 and May 25, 2025, is organized by Ogre Technical School (Latvia) in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Latvia, JSC “Latvijas valsts meži” (Latvia’s State Forests) and the association “Meža sports” (Forest sports), supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia, co-financed by forestry and other industry entrepreneurs. The co-organizer of the Championship is Luua Forestry School (Estonia).
“ESCFS 2025″ is taking place for the 21st time and is being hosted by Latvia for the first time. Young foresters from 16 countries – Austria, Belgium, Estonia, France, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Hungary, Germany, Sweden, and Latvia – including 16 boys and 5 girls, in total 21 teams, will participate in the “ESCFS 2025”.
As part of the Championship, young people from European countries will demonstrate their expertise in forest restoration and maintenance in the forest under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education and Science, managed by Ogre Technical School in Birzgale Parish, Ogre County. Mastery and dexterity in working with a chainsaw will be demonstrated at the year’s grandest forest awareness event “Latvian Forestry Days” in the JSC’s “Latvijas valsts meži” Nature park Tervete on May 23 and 24, 2025, where young people will present their skills in technical disciplines as fitting another chain, precision bucking, bucking by combined cuts and limbing.
